Data sources

Where each profile field comes from, how long it is cached and what it can—and cannot—show.

Current username and UUID

The current username and stable UUID come from the public Mojang profile and session services. Normal profile cache duration: 15 minutes. The UUID identifies the game profile; it is not private account authentication data.

Skin and model

The active texture and Classic or Slim model come from the signed session profile. Textures are served through a restricted MCIdentity route. Missing data is shown as unavailable.

Cape information

An active cape appears only when the session profile returns a valid cape texture. MCIdentity does not infer ownership or maintain a fabricated cape list.

Name observations

MCIdentity compares the current provider name for a UUID with earlier observations. Dates can be first/last observations or a change window—not an official exact change timestamp. History before MCIdentity first saw the profile can be absent.

First seen and last checked

“First seen by MCIdentity” is the first stored platform observation and is not an account-creation date. “Last checked” is the latest successful provider retrieval, which can differ from the page-view time when a cache hit is used.

Cache and limitations

Fresh profiles normally remain cached for 15 minutes. During provider problems a marked stale response can remain available for up to 24 hours. Missing history does not mean the player never changed names.
